The main religion being Hinduism, most of the indians are vegetarian. So we eat roti with a variety of different bean curry for every meal. It was tasty initially but eating it every meal without meat was tough on my stomach. Bean created lots of wind too. So I had stomache every night. (Wish you were there to apply 風油 for me.) Below is a picture of my meal. This restaurant is real good too. They have branches in 17 countries. Sg has 2 branches.
The flight to Chennai was delayed for an hour cos the incoming flight was late. The flight was pretty empty so I had a row of 4 seaters to myself. Me & my dad were the only non-indians on the flight. That probably explained many repeated questions about our destination by security. Thank god, the smell wasnt that overwhelming. When we touched down, it took us an hour at immigration queue. Despite the long time spent at immigration, my dad luggage still took awhile to come out. Being the ever impatient & temperamental lion he is, he started blaming me for asking him to check in his luggage and that now he just lost it. I was real patient with him. Let him say whatever but I continue searching for it while lugging my bags all around. (Somehow in my family, there is no such thing as gentleman. It is only right for women to serve men. So usually the heavy duty things are to be carried by us, the ladies.)
Then checked into hotel and had a really quick lunch. Right after that we had 3 intensive interviews one after another. Had one company visit. I was thoroughly exhausted both mentally & physically by the time it was dinner. But my marketing manager was nice. He brought us to the world second longest beach in Chennai before dinner. Though it was pitch dark, the salty smell of the sea, the strong breeze, the loud crashing sound of wave soothe my fatigue. For a moment, the world around me stop spinning. I just wanted to absorb in that moment. Wish you were here next to me. I know you will love it. The wind was cool, the moon was bright, the beach was quiet & peaceful. Chennai is indeed really beautiful. That sum up my first day in Chennai.
