Watched this film at my friend's place after a fatabulous korean meal at her house. Been a long time since we last chill out at her place watching a movie. Miss those times. (A ideal way to spend my weekend away watching DVDs at my friend's place with some peace & quietness.) Despite my dad making tons of noise and being anal about me coming home late, I couldnt care less. It comes to a point where I do what I think is right and I am not going to take instruction from anyone nor do I get affected by such small things. So that's what I did. Ended up, I am happy for the great time spent. It was a great movie as well as a great company accompanied by a fantastic korean meal. Perfect night! Keeping me happy for the whole week.
I am very happy to have watched 2 great films within 3 days. Extremely delighted indeed.
The Prestige will be one of my favourite film due to its very witty and clever plot. The story is full of interesting twist and turn. The best part of all is it requires a substantial amount of analytical skills to resolve the issues and piece the whole story together. Finally, when you do have the whole picture, you feel so good.
Every aspect of the movie is great. The development of the story was done in a very intelligent manner. The script was well-written. The parallelism between the movie plot which is about magic and its trick and the way the film is developed through tricky twists was extremely unique to this film. The acting and performance of the actors also did alot of justice to the film. To top it up, there were 2 eye-candy namely Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. (I simply love Hugh Jackman. He is cute.)
I also love this film because of the period of the story. Those old English days..nice! So the costume and the set up is great though it was not the focus of the film. Editing was fantastic in the way it mainpulates the order of the event in the story. Thus, it enhances and heighten the mystery and kept the audience in a suspence yet it wasnt too intense like thriller. Just enough to sustain the curiosity of the audience. Though the film duration was longer than usual, you would want to ask for more. Couldn't have done this film any better. Kudos to the director and its team. However, it would have been a perfect movie to watch it in cinema to enjoy the full sound system. Couldn't hear very clearly of the conversation exchange in the movie that we missed out quite important and witty details.
There was a nice implicit meaning, the high cost of man's obsession. Please go rent this DVDs & watch it. Transformer was an relaxing entertainment then this is a clever masterpiece. Worth watching it times and again till you figure.
